The Hertford Warriors, Perqirim ana County entry in the Carolina- Tidewater baseball league, dropped their two opening games of the seas on when they lost a game played at Hertford last Saturday to Poplar Branch 9 to 2, then lost on Sunday to the Shawboro nine by a 8-5 count ,In Saturday's game the Warriors were held scoreless - until a last inn ing rally enabled them to score two runs to avoid a shutout. - Chester Winslow led the Warrior attack in the opener, with two hits out of three tries. ' The Warriors lost Sunday's game in the last inning when a freak play enabled Shawboro to come up with a double play to wipe out a Warrior rally which showed promises of knotting the score. :;:..y."7v:'.
