BAPTIST CIRCLE MEETING Circle No. 1 of the Hertford Bap tist Church wil meet Monday after noon Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. at the church. Circle No. 2 will meet Monday, Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. L. H. Dawson; Circle No. 3 will meet Monday, Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. G. R. Tucker. Circle No. 4 will meet Monday, Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. Room No. 1 at the k.1 church with Mu. Raleigh White as hostess. Circle No. 5 will meet Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Howard Winslow. Circle No. 6 will meet Monday, Sept. 5th at 8 p.m. in the assembly room. of the church. The Rosa Powell Circle will meet Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Allen Bovanizer. , All members of the various circles are urged to be present. BRIDAL RECEPTION Immediately following the Stephenson-Felton wedding last Saturday, the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. J. 0. Felton entertained at a reception at their home. Receiving at the door were Miss Dorothy Howard and Mrs. D. F. Reen who introduced the guests to the re ceiving line. Mixed flowers and candles were used throughout the lower floor. The dining room was decorated with white gladioli, asters and candles in silver candelabra. The ( table was covered with an imported linen cloth and the cake was served by Mrs. Henry Clay Stokes. Miss Janet Murray, Miss Eva Harris and Mrs Henry Stokes assisted in serv ing ice cream, nuts and mints. Saturday morning Mrs. Henry Stokes and Mrs. T. L. Jessup enter tained at a weding breakfast at the home of Mrs. Julian White at .12:30 p. m. Matthews at Hertford Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Winslow, Mr. and Mrs. Winifred Wmslow . and children, Miss Mary Love Wmslow and Edith White visited Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Bundy near Hertford Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Verna Winslow and Edith White spent Tuesday with Mrs. La fayette Lane. Miss Shirley Jo Minton of iMiza- beth City spent Thursday with Miss Ruby Lane. Mr. Clifford Winslow has returned home after a visit in Philadelphia, Pa. He was accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Winslow. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Winslow and sons, Merrill, Emmett and Don spent Saturday at Nags Head. I Mrs. Arba Winslow and Mrs. Dempsey Winslow were among the H. D. Club members of the county who went on a tour of Williamsburg, Va.. to see 'The Common Glory" Fri day. Many interesting contests were en joyed with Mrs; Louis Winslow and Mrs. Elwood Nowell winning prizes , which they graciously presented to ) the honoree.
