Those playing - were Mes- dames Allen Bovanizer, Haywood Di vers, Louis Tarkington, E. C. Wood ard, Jamie Snipes, Lester Keel, and Mis Reba Spivey. The high score prize went to Mrs. Bovanizer, floating prize went to Mrs. Snipes and low was awarded Mrs. Woodard. Sand wishes and drinks were served by the hostesses. DELLA SHAMBURGER'S MEET The Delia Shamburger Circle of the Womans Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church met Monday night with Mrs. J. 0. Felton at her home. Mrs. A. B. Boner the president pre sided. Mrs. D. F. Reed was in charge of a very interesting program, as sisted by Mrs. J. 0. Felton, Mrs. D. L. Fouts and Miss Thelma Elliott. During the meeting a wire was read notifying the society of the death of Mrs. Delia Shamburger of Oxford, the organizer of the circle. Refresh ments were served to the 16 members preeent. ' The October meeting wil be with Mis. C. T. Skinner, with Mrs. D. L. Fouts in charge of the program. W.M.S. MEETS The Woman's Missionary Society of the Hertford Baptist Church met Monday everting, September 19, at the church. The meeting opened with the hymn "0 For a Thousand Tongues to Sing", after which Mrs. L. W. Nor man led in prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were read and the roll called with Circle No. 1 leading in the most members present. The business was presided over by Mrs. V. N. Darden, president, and' re ports were made by the officers. Mrs. Warner Madre was in charge of the program. Mrs. Lester Keel gave the devotional. Mrs. J. R. Perry led in prayer. Mrs. C. R. Holmes gave an interesting talk on "I Returned fron Communism" and Mrs. Haywood White on "Baptist Behind the Iron Curtain." 'The hymn "I Love to Tell the Story" was sung and Mrs. Charles Henc dismissed with prayer.
