E, Zion Church, Winfal April Record Month For Cars On Highways With motor vehicle registration on ly 10,568 short of a million, the Motor Vehicle Department reports that more vehicles used the highways of the State during April than during any month in history. Registration figures mounted to 989,432 as compared with 882,759 on the same date last year, an increase of 106,673. Although seasonal use of highway does not reach a peak until August, figures from James S. Burch, engi neer of statistics and planning of the State Highway Commission, revealed1 that on an average day in April, 68,' 102 vehicles passed the State' 20 full-time electric counting machines, as compared with 7,623 last August and 69,075 last April.' The figures represented a 15 per cent increase ever April of last year. . I have been associated with agriculture jn Hertford County for many years, and know the needs of the farmers. I have been closely connected with the public life of my community, having served as Chairman of the Board of Elections in Northampton County, and more recently in Hertford County in the same po sition, as well as Mayor of the Town of Murfreesboro. During the recent war, I served in the U. S. Navy in excess of 3 years, with over a years service in the Aleutian Islands and South Pacific. I believe in good roads, schools, hospitals, and the promotion of all measures that will provide a better preservation of our natural resources and wild life. ; You are privileged to vote for two of the candidates from this District.
