Auxijiary To Hold ' i Poppy Sales May 27 " L (Making memorial poppies to lye worn in honor, of war dead on Poppy Day, May 27, is providing employ- ment for thousands of disabled veter ans in hospitals throughput the country, according to Mrs. Lessie'E. White, Poppy Day chairman for the Hertford unit of the American Legion Auxiliary. The work not only enables the vet erans to 'earn much needed money hut ' also is valuable as occupational ther aphy. ' Poppies will be sold on the streets of Hertford ;,. and . throughout the county by volunteer workers from the Auxiliary and Girl Scouts, Mrs. White said. Contributions received for the. little red memorial flowers will go entirely into the rehabilitation and child welfare funds of the Legion and Auxiliary. John son, who presided over the meeting in the absence of Mrs. D. M. Jackson, out-going president.
