Mrs. Layden, mother of the bride, wore a forest green faille suit with black accessories and an orchid -cordage.,, .. For traveling; the bride chose a suit of small gold and black checks, styled with a snugly buttoned jacket 'with bottom trimmed pockets over a straight cut skirt Her accessories were of black velvet, and she wore the corsage lifted from her prayer book. On Friday night following the re hearsal, the bride's parents entertain ed the bridal party and a few friends at a cake cutting. The house was decorated throughout with arrange ments of fern, white chrysanthemums and white gladioli. The wedding cake was decorated with white and silver and topped with a miniature bride and ' groom, under a wreath of wedding hells. The eake was cut bv the bride and groom and served with bridal j ices to the guests. ' From Wilmington . Colon Butler, USOG, Wilmington, is spending this week with his mother, Mrs. George Butler. The Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Woodland Methodist Church held its regular monthly meet ing September 13 at the home of Mrs. Harry Winslow. The, meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Eddie Harrell. Mrs. Elmer Wood led in nrayer. The roll was called and the minutes read and approved. Business was dis cussed for the cone meeting. HONORED AT, PARTY Mrs. Max Scott and Mrs. Jarvis Scott were hostesses at a canasta party last Wednesday night at their home at Weeksville, honoring Miss Harriette Lou Layden who was mar ried Saturday.
