Alford of the North Caro lina Veterans Commission said today. Payments under . the pension ; law allow f 21.60 a month for one child; $32.40 for two' children; and; 43.29 for three children (equally divided). '; Requirements of the federal govern ment are that a veteran must have served in World War I before Novem ber) 12, 1918, and must have served 90 days or more and discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. A widow of a veteran, upon re marriage, need not file a new claim for her minor children but she must submit a certified copy of her marri age before the pension can be changed in favor of her children. Acceptance of a government check after marriage constitutes a fraud and is punishable by law. Under certain conditions minor children of World War II veterans can also qualify for this benefit.
