summary of the most important facts
presented, for ready reference. Supple

in farm population, cash farm re
ceipts from various sources, and cash
farm income per capita.
The farm program was prepared by
a committee of specialists headed by
Dr. James H. Hilton, dean of agricul
ture at N, C State College. Their
assignment was to diagnose the ail
men of North Carolina's agriculture
and recommend a long-term corrective
program. ' .

The Raiting Bureau has also pro
posed ithalt the rule which limits the
amount of insurance permitted per
acre be deleted. Heretofore, it has
been customary to place a Kmit upon
the amount of insurance that a farm
er could purchase on each acre of his
crop that he insured. The new rule
would only provide that the total in
surance for all insurance in any crop
shall not exceed the actual value of

Announces Contest
For the fourth consecutive year the
Medical Society of the State of North
Carolina announces its essay contest
conducted in the high schools of North
Carolina. ; .'. . ;,
Students in junior and senior high
schools have been invited to partici
pate in the contest, which opens Janu
ary 1 and closes February 28, 1951.
Announcements have been mailed to
'principals and superintendents of all

First place winners, as determined
by a series of evaluations, will receive
a $600 college scholarship. Second
and third place awards will also je
offered, it was learned.
In announcing the contest, officials
of the Medical Society stated that

ing will be held in his office at 10:00
A. M., January 12, 1951, to consider
the filing by the North Carolina Fire
Insurance Rating Bureau of proposed
changes in the rates and forms for
crop hail insurance.
The changes proposed in the hail jiect the two best papers. These win
