PAG3TSN i-U i Md 'Farm and Home Week, an annual event which is attended by several thousand Tar Heel farm men and women, will' be held at N. C. State College, Raleigh, from Monday, July 80, through Thursday, August 2. - Theme for this year's program will be "For Better. Rural and Family living." Family problems including food, shelter, clothing, savings and se curity, health and medical care, and recreation will be given special at tention. The ; place of the rural hurch in a community also will be emphasized, ' An outstanding' list of speakers is. being lined up, according to F. S. Sloan, extension program planning eader and secretary of Farm and Home Week. Classes will be held in special subjects, and the latest models of farm machinery for all purposes will be on exhibit. Social and recreational features, in cluding group singing and music by church choirs and county home demon stration choruses, have been planned for each evening. Professional and amateur skaters will give an ice show in the William Neal Reynolds Coliseum on the final evening: . Special programs and demonstra tions will be given on poultry Tues day afternoon, on livestock Wednes day, and on field crops Thursday The Thursday program will include a visit to an outstanding Wake County farm to study organizations, irriga tion and production practices. Needed adjustments in agriculture on both the national and State levels will be discussed by outstanding agri cultural leaders.
