They will not take their seats until around December 1. My successor, Mr. Scott, will become eligible to be seated after he is cer tified under 1 North Carolina law on November 23rd, putting him in the Senate well ahead of any other newly elected Democrat, thereby giving him ' seniority over them, which is the basis for assignment to Senate Committees.
