The Council Achieve ment Day was well attended and consisted of a musical program en joyed by all. The Council also sup ported drives for fund3 for the Red Cross, March of Dimes and the Ground Observation Tower. A recreational school was con ducted by the Council during the year with Lonnie Powell' of State College directing the activities. : Recently the, county won the at tendance gavel at ; the district meeting held in Gates County. ' Not' only were farmers, club, wo men and members of civic organiz ations of the county allowed to participate but ony person, in the year, county could exhibit. It was ' day of recr.tion and; fun for all, as well as being edu cational, for quite some good dem onstrations were given and there were worthwhile exhibits display ed.
