Selects Objective
A meeting of the Perquimans
Health Committee for the purpose
of outlining objectives of the or
ganization was held November 10
in the office of the Negro Exten
sion Agents. The group, with King
A. Williams as chairman, selected
its objective to educate the peo
ple to observe and to practice U
health flaws. To encourage this
the committee will promote health
programs, recreational facilities,
hospitalization insurance, and will
encourage community sanitation
and prevention of disease.

interested in sharing the' income
from almost one million 'dollars
with worthy high school seniors. ;

cently when Wake Forest officials
announced a new scholarship pro
gram which will be, financed by

in September, 1954, he left Wake
Forest almost 'one " million dollars

campus at Winston-Salem.
The basic factors that will be
considered in making the awardsj

Perquimans Bridge
Getting New Deck
Employees of the State Highway
Commission were engaged this
week in installing a new deck on
the bridge over the Perquimans
River at Hertford. One-way traf
fic over the bridge has been the
order of the. day while the work
men install the new floor.
Short delays in the flow of traf
fic resulted while the workmen
maintained the one-way traffic or
der.. However, the delays were of
short duration and less inconveni
ent than had a detour been es
tablished. The work is expected to
be completed in about 15 days.
