Preparations have been complet
ed lor the annual visit of Santa
j Claus to Hertford on Saturday, De
y'cember 22, t was reported by Ed-
ward Barbed chairman of the Hert-
ford Jaycee Committee" which is in
. charge of the Jaycee' Christmas ac
tivities for children of this county. -'
'-Santa's visit is scheduled for 2
o'clock Saturday afternoon and thi
committee, composed of Mr. Bar
ber, Charles Skinner, Jr., and Jar
v vis Henry have arranged for the
program to be carried out on the
- Court House Green. AH of the chil
dren' of, the county are invited to be
on hand to greet Saint Nick who
will Jiave presents for all the little
v boy'g and girls. -
The children are requested, in
order to help Santa Claus make
, equal and quick distribution of the
gifts, to observe the rules of San-

holiday for Christmas this year, it

week that the stores will be closed

zens of Hertford to help the street
department maintain a clean town
during the Christmas holidays. Be
cause of the department's work
schedule, residents ' are requested
not to place leaves or trash on the
streets for collection after Friday
night.
The work schedule will not per
mit the department to pick up
leaves and .'trash after Saturday,
and this work will not be resumed
until after Christmas. Residents

meeting of the Hoard of Kducation
held Monday night and provides

Mr White was the son of the
late Tater and Missouri White. He
was a member of the Woodville
Baptist Church. I
He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Annie McNider White; one son,
Thomas C. White of Route two; one
daughter, Mrs, George Scales of
Danbury, Conn.; a brother, Nollie
White of Portsmouth, Va.j one sis
ter, Mrs; Minnier White, and two
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnnie White,
Haywood White, Kader White,
Marion White, Raymond iStanton
and Vernon Ward. Interment was
in Cedarwood Cemetery.
