Potter, husband of the former Miss Bettie Davis of Route 2, Edenton, was commis sioned a second lieutenant in the Army December 19,' 1958, upon completing the 23-week officer candidate course at the infantry School, Fort Benning, ' Georgia. Lt. Potter entered the Army March 2, ' 1948. Prior to his commission, he was a Sergeant First Class. During his years as an enlisted man he' served tours .of duty in Austria and Korea, plus a number of assign ments in the states, including Alaska. Lt. and Mrs. Potter are at present stationed at Fort Ord, California, where he is assigned to the N. C O.
