of Education, met jn special ses
sion Thursday, June 11, 1959.
Mr. Caddy was absent.
Minutes of the last meeting
were' read and approved.
Mr. Silas Whedbee, attorney,
and Mr, Griffith, architect, met
with the board to discuss i
proposal made by Mr, Godwin,
attorney for the estate of the
late Mr. Pierce. . Mr. Godwin
proposed for the estate a cash
settlement of $1,000.00 for a
final release from anyV' further
responsibility in, connection with
the electrical contract at- Hert
ford Grammar School. After
much vdiscussion, a motion was
made seconded and passed au
thorizing Mr. Biggers, Superin
tendent, and Mr Griffith, archi
tect, to make a counter propo
sal to Mr., Godwin, with author
ity to accept a final settlement.

zoned as RA-6 Residential Zone,

DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE
AT NIGHT IN THE TOWN
OF HERTFORD;
After due discussion, upon mo
tion made, seconded and unani
mously passed it was resolved:
That in addition to the present
ordinance now in effect regard
ing dogs running at large at
night, the following be added to
same
That any dog found runnmc at
large wnnout an attendant. at
during any day, will be impound
ed by an official of the Town of
Hertford, N. C; if the owner of
such dog impounded is known, or
can be ascertained by the Town
Officials, 'they will be notified of
said dog being impounded.
Any owner of a dog impound
ed, may have his dog released to
the said owner, upon paying a fee
of $3.00 for the impounding, and
$1.00 for eaoh day the said dog
stays impounded.
If any such dog impounded re
mains for a period of longer than
three days, then the Town of
Hertford will dispose of such dog
'at its discretion.
