home of her son, George Edgar
Newby, Jr., in Rocky Mount,
after a long illness, . were held
Saturday at . 12:00 noon in the
First Methodist Church by the
Rev. "Fred Still, pastor, assisted
by the Rev, Thomas Symthe,
rector of the Church of the Good
Shepherd in Rocky Mount.
The church choir sang "Be
Still My Soul" accompanied by
Miss Kate Blanchard, organist.
The casket pall was made of

River Friends Church Tuesday
night, December 5.
The Rev. Mr. Hill read from
the second chapter of Luke, first
through the seventh verses for
his devotion. The opening song
was "Hark, The Herald Angels
Sing." ,Mr. Hill closed his de
votion with prayer.

to list any poll or property, real or personal;- who Willfully
fails or refuses to list the same within the time allowed by
law, or who removes or conceals propetty for the purpose of
ev8ding.taxatiojU. fihaU. be guilty, of a misdemeanor punish
able by a fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) or imprison
ment not to exceed thirty days; and any person, firm or cor
poration aiding ' or abetting the : removal ' or ' concealment of

of a misdemeanor punishable by, a fine, not to exceed fifty
