; ("The Market Hog Show' held
. In1 Hertford on Wednesday,
'March 6, was more of a success
than we had anticipated," stated
R.i M. Thompson, Perquimans
County Extension chairman.
There were 253 hogs accepted
for ; the show and sale, which
sold for a total of $8,558.30. The
. price paid averaged somewhere
around a penny above market
price, and it is certainly due to
the interest of our local hog
buyers - that the sale was any
where as successful as it was.
The local hog buyers are Miller
apd Humphlett of Winfall and
Gwaltney, who bought - all the
hogs in . the sale except one,
which was bought by Smithfield
Packing Sompany.
