William Campen Dies
After Week's Illness
William (Kelly) - MoAlister
Campen, 1 73, of 601 1 Deep Creek
Blvd., i Portsmouth, , died Tuesday
morning , at 3:30 in the Mary
view Hospital after a week's
illness. A N. C, native, he was
the son of the late Jesse and
Mrs. Jane Sawyer Campen and
was a member of the Baptist
Church. He was a retired paint
er, and letterer .having worked
for , 25 years with the Brooks
.Transportation Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Mary Alma Taylor Campen; two
sons, William . Campen of Rich
mond and Charles Campen of
Hertford;' a daughter; Mrs., Jane
Rice of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs.
Margaret Clark of Washington,
D. C.; three brothers, Don Cam
Den of 1 Pprtsmou,th, Jesse Cam
pen of Great Bridge, Va.,4 and
Charlie, Campen of Jacksonville,
Fla.,' and five grandchildren. . -
Funeral services - were held
Thursday morning at 11 o'clock
in the chapel of the Swindell
