Program Features ' Family Reunion Sunday, August 25 at, the so cial .hall of Sandy Cross ;Bap! tist Church approximately ' 125 descendants of William Henry and Sarah Perry Stallings' met in a reunion for the first time in 13 years. Descendants were present from Portsmouth, Va., Norfolk, Va., Winston-Salem, . N: C, in addition to those who at tended frcm within distances of a 30-mile radius. Lunch was served at noon buffet style and groups t formed along the t.nvek hall to chat while eating. High lights of the day included a pro gram of music and singing by the entire group. Kay Dail, pi anist, Janie Stallings and Debra Wright, great grandchildren, were heavily applauded after a duet, "Mansions Over the Hill Top." History of the marriage and way of life of the couple was given by a1 granddaughter, Daisy Stallings. Superlatives by another granddaughter, Mrs. Audrey Venable, informed the group the status of attending members. The, family of Will H. Stallings, Jr., had the larg: est number of living descend ants, L. iO. Stallings was the oldest of the remaining living children, of which Ken Stal lings of Sunbury, N. C, arid Sidney Stallings of Portsmouth, Va. now living' out of 10 child ren. The youngest descendant, a great grandson, the youngest grandmother, a former Per quimans girl and graduate of the Perquimans County High School, was Sally Stallings West, now residing in Ports mouth,. Va. f Jokes were told, by Bill Stal lings and Earle-Stallings, after which, , with Merle Blanchard Wright leading, all sang "Auld Lang Syne" and Matthew Wins low pronounced the benediction.
