how a United Fund works how
it. is set up and how it is re
lated to Carolinas . United. He
emphasized . that , in order . for
"such an organization to work it
is necessary for the entire com
munity to Unite behind the fund
. raising . effort Prather further
pointed , out that, "through the
payroll deduction advantage that
a United Fund, monies can be
more easily raised by more peo
pie contributing fheir fair share
to the .effort. ; -
The meeting , was attended by
five .: representatives from the
Sunbury area, where they arc
also : investigating the possibili
ties of a United Fund. '

tion of the fund, "an extensive
question and answer period was
conducted allowing those in at
tendance tot clear up any ques
tions that they had about such
an . organization. It was gener
ally felt that all in attendance
endorsee!, the- plan and further
investigation, by the, Chamber of

Mrs. J. C. Morgan gave a talk
on her tour of the United Na
tions to the Perquimans County
Home Demonstration County
Council March 25.
"I was real happy to go," she
said. The tour was the ninth
annual North Carolina Home
Demonstration tour made in No
vember, 1963. ' We loaded the
bus in Raleigh with a hustle and
bustle." The group stayed at
the Taft Hotel in New York.

velt. They visited the chapel at
West Point and attended "Pass
word," a TV program.
