Holmes High School at Edenton. Coach Bobby Carter is expecting more victories. The track teams will have their first meet Wednesday, March 27th at Edenton. Thursday, March 28th, the chemistry and physics classes will take a trip to Texas Gulf near Washington, N. C. Chemis try and Physics classes from John A. Holmes High School will go with our school. The new activity bus will be used. Tommy Long, Susan Harrell and Donald Perry along with Mrs. Kathleen Brickhouse attended the Northeastern Dis trlct Student Council Conven tlon. Susan Harrell serves as secretary for this district. The majority of the Beta Club members attended the District Beta Club Convention at Gates County several weeks ago. P. C. n. S. debaters won at Gates County High School in the First Round Robin series. Mrs. Elizabeth Britt and the debaters will compete in debating speeches at Wilming ton on March 30th. The winners at Wilmington will go to Chapel Hill. Good luck debaters. Miss Thelma Elliott was guest speaker at the FHA meeting last Friday. Miss Elliott talked to the girls about careers after high school. rne annual staff and news paper staff are making plans to pick the new staffs. They hope to have the staffs picked by Friday. Department of Agri culture has issued notice of pro posed regulations covering quality and inspection require ments for Virginia and North Carolina potatoes. The regula tions are issued under the USDA marketing order for Irish pota toes grown in Virginia and North Carolina and in which Perqui mans County is Included. Officials of USDA's Consumer and Marketing Service said the proposed regulations were recommended by the Southeast ern Potato Committee at its re cent meeting in Norfolk Va.
