Serve over apple, orange, pineapple and peaoh fruit salads. Senior 4-H Club Holds nesting The Senior 4-H Club met June 20 at the New Extension Building President. Dlanne Ltyden, called the meeting to order by having the pledges to the flag repeated. Carmen Sutton, Nancy Rlddlck and Mike Bunch were chosen as Delegates to attend the 4-H Citizenship Short Course in Washington, D, C. June, 21- through the 27th. Mrs. Fannie Hurdle reminded the 4-irers of State Club week the last week In July and urged as many as could to attend 4-H Camp in August. Carmen' Sutton gave a Demonstration, Carmens Pride, being pumpkins. Barbara Elliott gave a demonstration on how to Care for your Sewing Machine. Victor Lamb gave a demonstra tion on "The Production of Quality Cabbage." Maureene Nixon gave a very informative talk ot "The Road Ahead." Maureene Nixon is run' ning for a State Office at State Club Week and each member pledged their support. Mrs. Hur die congratulated "Maureen-far winning a Scholarship to attend The Danforth Camp in August. The President then adjourned the meeting and refreshments were enjoyed by the group. It Is warm weather to talk about furs but they are being shown at this season for the fall. There Is variety in the new coats, dresses and stoles. Different shades of mink are used to faahloa garments a darker mink may bind a Jacket or bo used around the hemline or as a collar. Stoles are still popular and the three-quarter length coat is good. Short Jackets are smart. ; Jeweled necklines and cuffs on cocktail dresses are favored by some designers. Colorful shoes with medium heels continue to be popular. ON SILVER CERTIFICATES The Treasury Department handed cut its last piece of silver for a dollar htll June 24th. Paper money isno longer backed by either sliver or gold, but can still be used for money. r Jesse Rountree, a student at the College of the Albemarle has been placed on the Dean's list. . Mrs. Sylvia Wlnslow, Beth Wlnslow and Michelle Boyce spent last week at Quaker Lake camping. The Jesse Rountree family and Mrs. Baker, (Mrs. Roun tree's ; mother) from England spent a few days at Nags Head last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Boyce and children and Mrs. James Dewitt Wlnslow spent the week end at Trot man visiting Mrs, Emmitte Wlnslow. Mrs. Sallie Rountree is still on the sick list.
