Mitchell of Rye, New York, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Jill Elizabeth Mitchell, to Edwin Corprew Reed. He Is the soh of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Reed of Charleston, South Carolina, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Corprew Wilson Reed of Hertford, North Carolina. Miss Mitchell was presented In the 1960 Season of The Sands Point Club and at a dinner dance given by her parents at home. She was graduated from Emma Wlllard School, Troy, Mew York, Pine Manor Junior College, Wellesley, Massachusetts, and Columbia University. Miss Mitchell is presently with the Nixon for President Committee as an As sistant to the director of Information. Her father is a senior partner of the law firm of Nixon Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander ' ft Mitchell and Is presently acting as Mr. Nixon's Campaign. Manager. Mr. Reed, who was graduated from the Dherer High School In Columbia, South Carolina, and The Citadel, is a member of the 0. S. Army Reserve and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He is with Bankers Trust Company in New York. Mr. Reed's father is the Executive Vice President of The South Carolina National Bank.
