employ homemakers. Its imple
mentation 'depends on the extent
of the need and the desire on the
part of county officials to parti
cipate by providing necessary
county matching funds. The larg
est share of this expense is pro
vided by Federal and State funds.
In July 1947,NorthCarolinaln
Itlated its venture in homemaker
service with 'a demonstration
project In only three counties.
