Z&chsry On Duty In Akiba Evans-Thompson To Take Part in College Concert A capital city "first" will occur April 24 when 400 students from the Raleigh-based colleges and universities, all members of Cooperating Raleigh Colleges (CRC), will perform program of sacred and classical music in Memorial Auditorium at 8 p,m, The public is invited to attend and no admission will be charged. The 325-voice choir will consist of the Meredith College Chorus, tho N. C. State Varsity Men's Glee Club and University Choir, the Peace College Choir, the St. Augustine's College Choir and the St. Mary's College Glee Club. Orchestral accompaniment will be by the 75-piece North Carolina State University Orchestra conducted by James Dellinger. Students from the area par ticipating in the choral festival include Raymond M. Thompson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Thompson of Route 3, from the NCSU Varsity Men's Glee Club; Martha J. Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Evans of Route 1, from the NCSU Choir. Concert conductor will be Gerhard P. Schrotn, director of music for the public schools of Racine, Wise, and recognized for directing the Kraft Music Hall chorus Schroth has been concertmaster of the Milwaukee Symphony and is the founder of the Lutheran Choir of Milwaukee. For four seasons he conducted the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra and Civic Chorus, later moving to Chicago to become director of music at Rockefeller Chapel on the University of Chicago campus.
