Clemens, Mich. spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. John Beers. VISIT IN HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Winslow and family and Mrs. Sylvia Eager Beaver 4-H Club Meet The Eager Beaver 4-H club held their February meeting at the home of Mrs. Pat Mims. The meeting was called to order by Debbie Lane, president. Charles Mims led the group in pledges to the flags. The devotion was given by Sherry Mims. She read scripture from n Corinthians. Cathy Newberry led the club in singing several songs. Beverly Eure, secretary called the roll with 13 members present. The minutes of January meeting were read and approved. Sherie Williams gave the treasurer s report. Under new business the club voted to give ten dollars to the 4-H Development Fund. The duties for the next meeting were then assigned. After repeating the motto the meeting was adjourned. Kathy Sawyer-Reporter Miss White Is Hostess To Bridge Club Miss Ruby White was hostess to her bridge club Tuesday night at her home on Church Street. Players were Mrs. T. L. Jessup, Mrs. H. C. Stokes, Mrs. W. C. Dozier, Mrs. John Coston, Mrs. G, W. Barbee, Mrs. J. T. Biggers, Mrs. C. R. Holmes, and Miss Mary Sumner. Mrs. Stokes was high score winner. A sweet course was served. Don Morgan On Dean's List At UNC Donald Blair Morgan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Morgan of Winfall, is listed in the University of North Carolina's spring semester dean's list for the College of Arts and Science. To be on the dean's list at the University here, a student must be taking a full academic load of at least 15 hours, and make no grade below a C. The grades in all courses must average a 3.0 (or B) quality point average. Schools and Colleges in which students can qualify for the dean's list are The College of Arts and Sciences, The General College, The School of Business Administration, The School of Education, The School of Journalism, and, in Health Affairs, Dental Hygiene, Physical Therapy, Nursing and Pharmacy. Home Upholstery Course A "Home Upholstery" course, coordinated by the Adult Education Division of College of The Albemarle, will begin Tuesday, February 22 at 7 p.m. at the Water Street Annex downstairs. The course will run from 7 to 10 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday night from February 22 to March 23. This craft course is designed to help citizens re-upholster their furniture and, therefore, enhance their homes. A registration fee of $2.00 will be charged. Registration will be at the First class on a first come, first served basis. Student-Faculty Basketball Game Thursday night at 7:00 o'clock the faculty of PCHS will try to show "middle age" at its best. In the first game lady faculty members will play girls from the student body. Mr. Byrum and Mr. Davis have agreed to officiate, in the second game the men's faculty team is reported to be able to put more than a half a ton on the court at one time. They insist that it is all muscle. Some students agree that with all that muscle there's little room for brain. All in all, it should be a good battle (some insist a side show). Colson, Rt. 3, Hertford, N.C, has arrived for duty at Langley AFB, Va. Sergeant Colson, an inventory management supervisor, is in a unit of the Tactical -Air Com mand which provides combat units for air support of U.S. ground forces. He previously served at Tan Son Nhut AB, Vietnam. The sergeant is a 1949 graduate of Perquimans Central High School. His wife, Audrey, is the daughter of Mrs. Glennie C. Wilson, Rt. 2, Elizabeth City, N.C.
