Perquimans County Travel Survey Travel in Perauimans County was $770.00 according to figures published in the 1971 North Carolina Travel Survey. The survey is published annually by the Department of Natural ana Economic Resources' Travel and Promotion Division. Total state expenditures were $850 and $549 million of this total was spent by out-of-state visitors. The 1971 survey has a new look. Through pictorial and graphic interpretation, the travel industry in North Carolina is presented and is easy to evaluate fashion. The survey was, done by Lewis and Leona Copeland of the Department of Statistics of the University of Tennessee. Layout and ideas for easier interpretation were created by Charles Heatherly, Publications Editor of the Travel and Promotion Division. Art work was by Gay Brantley of the Department of Natural and Economic Resources. There are 15 black and white photos and both front and back covers are full color. Copies ot the booklet will be distributed to news media, chambers ot commerce, the Travel Council of North Carolina members, and those persons interested in travel in North Carolina. Taking the state as a whole, James noted, the number on the food stamp program increased by 4,409 while the food distribution program ,, dropped by 697 to give, an ;. overall decrease of 3,712 from December's 298,316. . In the food stamp program, operating in 52 North Carolina counties, 177,115 people were issued $4.4 million. Of this amount, $2.9 million was in free or bonus stamps.
