From Chesapeake, Va. were Mrs. James Gaitley, James III, j Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lee Reed, of Covington, Virginia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth jUndsay, to Russell Edward Stullken, of Seabrook, Texas. J Miss Reed attended Longwood College, Farmville, Virginia, and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Nursing, Charlottesville, in 1970. She is now employed at Henrietta Eggleston Hospital for Children, in Atlanta, Ga. $ ' Mr. Stullken is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Donald Edward "Stullken of Seabrook. He graduated from De Pauw lUniversity, Greencastle, Ind., in 1967, with a B.A. degree in biology, and attended Emory University, at Atlanta, where he received his Master's degree in biology in 1969. ?He is now in a doctoral program in biology at Emory 'University. J Miss Reed is. the granddaughter of Mrs. Guy Newby and $f Mrs. C.W. Reed, both of Hertford, N.C. Women's Missionary Society Meets Mrs. Whit Cartwright was hostess to the Missionary Society of the Berea Church of Christ on Friday night. Harold and Leone Cole, Missionaries to Japan, who are in the states now, and visited the church Thursday night was discussed, and their work presented. The, lesson from Malachi was taught. Mrs. J.D. From Norfolk, Va. attending were Mrs. Annette Hodges and Kevin, Sally Ruth Hurdle, Mary Beth Hurdle, Mrs. Jackie Hoggard. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Webster and children Jeff and Julie Webster. Also Mr. & Mrs. King George Byrum. Ira Lu and Hazelene Byrum from Tyner. Mrs. Adrinne Hurdle from Elizabeth City, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hayman, Jr. and children John, Suzanne and Thomas from White Marsh, Va., Mr. & Mrs. Roger Hayman. Sr. from Newport News, Va. and Mrs. Lib Butler from Jerkimer, N.Y. Hostess To Bridge Club Mrs.T.W. Wilson was hostess to her bridge club Thursday afternoon at her home on Front Street. Those playing were Mrs. S.P. Jessup, Mrs. S.M. Whedbee, Mrs. J.H. Newbold, Mrs. C.R. Holmes, Mrs. C.A. Davenport, Mrs. H.A. Whitley, Mrs. J.R. Futrell, and Mrs. W.G. Edwards. Mrs. Edwards won the high score prize. A salad course was served. Whiteston 4-H Club Meets The Whiteston 4-H Club met Friday, April 14 at the Whiteston Community Building. The president, R.P. White called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance and the 4 H Pledge were said. The minutes of the last meeting were read and ap proved, The roll was called with 21 members and 1 new member present. The collection was then taken. For devotion Randy Lassiter played "My Country Tis of Thee" while everyone sang. Mr. Smith gave us a demonstration on electricity and on how to make a bulletin Board. We then had and recreation.
