Helen Gaither Club HERTFORD Mrs. John Corprew, Jr. was hostess to the Mary Ellen Dozier Homemakers Club in April. The president, Mrs. Singleton Lane, presided. Mrs. Corprew gave the devotional, reading from 2nd. Thessonions and led in prayer. The roll was called by the secretary, Mrs. Sam Trueblood. There were nine members and one visitor present. Mrs. Douglas Umphlett was welcomed as a new member. Mrs, Lane appointed a nominating Committee which was: Mrs. Sain Trueblood as chairman, Mrs. John Corprew, Jr. and Mrs. Singleton Lane. Mrs. Corprew gave two in teresting book reports. Mrs. Warmer Madre gave an in teresting demonstration on "Todays Fabrics and Fibers." She showed a film and made remarks. She also showed several pieces of fabrics. This was enjoyed by every one. The collect was repeated for closing. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Hostess To Bridge Club Mrs. W.C. Dozier was hostess to her bridge club Tuesday night at her home on Market Street. Those playing were Mrs. J.T. Biggers, Mrs. H.C. Stokes, Mrs. T.L. Jessup, Mrs. G.W. Barbee, Mrs. John Coston, Mrs. C.R. Holmes, Miss Mary Sumner, and Miss Ruby White. Mrs. Holmes was high score winner. Sitterson's Honored On 5th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Luther B. Sit terson were honored Sunday afternoon at a reception in observance of their Golden Wedding Anniversary. They were married May 4, 1922 in the Hertford Baptist Church Parsonage by the Rev. B.L. Rhodes. Mrs. Sitterson was the former Johnetta Haste of Chowan County. The rooms of their home were beautifully decorated for the occasion with floral arrangements and candles of yellow and gold. The serving table which was covered with a cut-work cloth over gold, was centered with an arrangement flanked by burning tapers. The three tiered wedding cake, punch, nuts, mints and cookies were served to the approximate 100 guess who called. Assisting in the reception were Mrs. Louis Sitterson, Mrs. N.E. Hollowell, Jr., Mrs. W.W. White, Sr. and Mrs. W.W. White, Jr. Mrs. Dale Entertains Rook Club Mrs. Walter Dale entertained her Rook Club Wednesday afternoon at her home in Whiteston. Those playing were Mrs. J. E. Morris, Mrs. G.R. Tucker, Mrs. C.T. Skinner, Mrs. J.H. Towe, Mrs. A.T. Lane, Mrs. C.E. Cannon, Mrs. Julian White, and Mrs. John Coston. Always a Queen!
