Funeral Services Heid For Mrs. Proctor
Mrs. Katie Fleetwood
Proctor, 84, died Saturday at
2:45 in her home on Route 2,
Edenton, following an illness of
five months.
A native of Perquimans
County, she was the daughter of
the late Wilson and Mrs. Fannie
Johnson Fleetwood and the
widow of Ambrose Franklin
Proctor.
She was a member of the
Bethel Baptist Church and the
Women's Missionary Union of
the church. ' ".
- A teacher in the Chowan
County Schools for 12 years,
before her retirement she was a
cottage parent at the Baptist
Children's Home in
Thomasville.
Attorney

Surviving are a sister, Mrs.
M. T. Griffin of Route 2,
Edenton and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held
Monday at 3:30 in the Chapel of
the Swindell Funeral Hompvby
the Rev. Gordon Shaw ana the
Rev. Bennie Crawford.
The Bethel Church Choir sang
"It Is Well With My Soul". They
were accompanied by Mrs. I. C.
Long, organist.
The casket pall was made of
red roses, white Chrysan
themums, Baby's Breath and
fern. "
' Pallbearers were Jeff Keeter,
Jule Fleetwood, Jimmy
Fleetwood, Joe Ward Proctor,
John Hobbs and Pete Proctor.
Burial was in the Bethel
Cemetery.
