an old boat paddle, which
had this inscribed "The old

Wednesday night turned
out to be exciting when the

Also Thursday evening
was a shoot out between the
Scoutmasters and members
of the camp staff. Hertford's

Their award was a trophy
made from a piece of cedar
with empty shells drove in it

Webb Haskett was on top
with 5 merit badges and 2

Due to the troop's good
showing they were called
upon to open the Friday
night campfire. This was
planned and conducted by
Senior Patrol Leader,
Randy Simmerson and he
was assisted by Mike
Goodwin, and Mark Pierce.
The troop was also
awarded a steak supper
" cooked by the staff before
the Friday night campfire
program. All other meals
.were cooked by the boys
'themselves.
Scoutmaster Simmerson
reports that he has never
, eaten better, nor has he ever
been out with a group of
boys who conducted
themselves any better. The
parents of all the boys as
well .as - the entire
community should be proud
of the boys.

COOL AIR
A room air condl
tioner will cool better if
the filter is washed
or changed regularly.
Authorities recommend
monthly dunking of re
usable filters to prevent
dirt from collecting on
the cooling coils and
decreasing cooling effi
ciency. .
SEERSUCKER
The renewed interest
in the classics for the
'70' s has brought seer
sucker, back. Patterns
range from stripes,
checks and solids to the
bold look of big plaids
and demure tiny petal
prints.
This wash-and-wear
"old newcomer" can be
found in skirts, pants,
