Pge 10-Tbe Perquimans Weekly, Hertford, N.C, Thursday, December 19, 1974 B eaman Presides in District Court 11 sS r :i Judge Grafton Beaman presided at the Wednesday session of Perquimans, County District Court, and heard the following cases: Marshall Dwight Dav enport, charged with driv ing under the influence of intoxicating liquor, was given a 60-day sentence, suspended for 1 year, a fine of $100.00 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver's license to the Clerk of Superior Court, and not to operate a motor vehicle for a period of 12 months; Albert Westley Williams was found guilty of driving under the influence and received a 60-day sentence suspended for 1 year, a fine of $100.00 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver's license to the Clerk of Court, and not to operate a motor vehicle for 12 months; Clarence Alexander, charged with driving under the influence, received a 60 day sentence suspended for 1 year, a fine of $100.00 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver's license to the Clerk of Superior Court.and not to operate a motor vehicle in North Carolina for 12 months (after December 11, 1974); Brdachie Oliver Carpenter was found guilty of driving under the in fluence and received a 60 day sentence suspended for 1 year, a fine of $100.00 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver's license to the Clerk of Superior Court, and not to operate a motor vehicle in North Carolina for a period of 12 months; The State took a Nol Pros in the case of Calvin God frey, who was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor; Ricky Wayne Trueblood, charged with speeding and driving under the influence, was given a 60-day sentence suspended for 12 months, a fine of $120.00 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver's license to the Clerk of Superior Court, not to operate a motor vehicle during the period of suspension, and not violate any State or Federal laws; James Percy Merrier, Jr. received a 60-day sentence suspended for 1 year, a fine of $100.00 and costs, and surrender his driver's license for 12 months, after he was found guilty of driving under the influence. Robert Allen Hunter, charged with driving under the influence, by allowing a motor vehicle under his custody to be operated while driver was under the in fluence, received a 60-day sentence suspended for 1 year, a fine of $100.00 and costs, ordered to surrender his driver's license to the Clerk of Superior Court, not to operate a motor vehicle in C oastal R esources Commission Meet The Coastal Resource Commission met in New Bern, N.C. on Nov. 10 and 11. The meeting was an effort to . put the finishing touches on the planning guidelines to be used by local governments of the 20 coastal area count ies with the preparation of their own individual land use plans. Perquimans is one of the 20 counties in volved. , When completed these 20 individual county land use plans will form the basis for a "comprehent ive plan for the," protection., preser vation, orderly .'evelop ment, and management of the coastal area of North Carolina," which is the primary objective of the Coastal Area Management Act of 1974.
