T 1 A 0 Meeting 1 i Li 'J n n BASKETBALL DOUBLE-HEADER Men who dress in women's clothes could easily qualify for a night in the pokey. Take seven such men, toss in a midget to boot, and you apparently have a king-size problem for the local head-shrinker. But that's not the case with the CALIFORNIA CUTIES, a fun-loving band of athletes who actually make their living dressing in women's clothes. The CUTIES do more than that, however. They also play basketball... and rank as one of the top touring teams in the country. Now in their eighth season, the CUTIES will be in Hertford on Wed., February 19 for a game against the Maple Bombers of Currituck. The contest starts at 7 p.m. at Perquimans High School. It's being sponsored by Perquimans High School Guidance Club. Although the name of the game is comedy, the CUTIES are deep enough in talent to win the large majority of their outing. But you couldn't tell it by looking at the roster, which includes such unlikely basketball names as Dottie Dribble, Leaping Lena, Dinah Sore, Hefty Helen, Dumpy Dora, Rebound Ruby and Scaggie Maggie. Woodard's Pharmacy will play Radio Station WGAI in a preliminary game. Mrs. Janie W. Proctor, Assistant Cashier, Peoples Bank & Trust Co., Hertford, N.C., attended the second quarterly meeting of the Eastern North Carolina Group of the National Association of Bank Women, Inc. which was held at the Holiday Inn in Jacksonville, North Carolina, on February 11. Wilmington', North Carolina and Ms. Sara Jane Lewis, Regional Teller Instructor, First-Citizens Bank and Trust Company, New Bern, North Carolina. The National Association of Bank Women, Inc. is an organization for women holding executive and official positions in banks, savings banks and trust companies.
