BICENTENNIAL PROGRAM - A
Bicentennial program was presented
Monday on the courthouse - lawn' by
members of Mrs. Rachel Weeks' fourth
grade class at Perquimans Central
Grammar School. The students sang the
state songs of the original thirteen col-,
onies and were accompanied by Danny
Meads, music instructor, on the piano.
Several solos were also performed.
These included the state song of Connec
ticut sung by Charles Leigh, South
Carolina's state song sung by Monica
Moore. Tim Bryant sung New Hamp
shire's state song and the state song of
New York was performed by Jeanette
Murph. Approximately 75 people
gathered to hear the fourth graders.
