A Belvidere Happenings By MRS. ELTON D. LA YD EN - Hugh Ralford Copeland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Estes Copeland, was a guest on Becky - Livas' show on WTAR-TV. Ralford talked about the show "Irene" his dramatic students at Booker T. Washington High School are putting on in mid January. This activity is self-supported by the students and is not state sup ported. Many of, his fans from Belvidere have en joyed Raiford's ap vpearances at The Cavalier Dinner Theatre as an actor and director. Miss Peggy Layden is spending a week at the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Layden of Elisabeth City. Peggy and her Uncle Martin celebrated a joint birthday on January 31 with a party at the V.F.W. hall. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn White and daughter ' Christy of Fayetteville spent part of the holidays, with Mr. White's, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin White. - Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Steele of Bluefield, W. Va. spent the holidays with Mr.; and Mrs. Murray- D. Lane. With all the beauty and tradition of the holiday season Emerson Asbell held "Open House" for his friends and neighbors on December 30th. The home was lovely with evergreens, holly and lighted candles throughout the downstairs rooms. A glowing fireplace added warmth and welcome for his guests. Every person in whose name any property is to be listed under the terms of this sub-chapter shall list the property with the tax supervisor or proper list taker within the time allowed by law on an abstract setting forth the information required by this sub-chapter. In addition to all other penalties prescribed by law, any person whose duty it is to list any property who wilfully fails or refuses to list the same within the time prescribed by law shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment not to exceed six months.
