TOMATOES AND LIMA
BEANS: Several farmers in
this county ho contracted
to ?grow vz50 acres of
tomatoes and SO acres of test
planting of Lima beans for
the G.L. Webster Company
of Cheriton, Va. were disap
pointed Saturday to learn
the company was cancelling
the. contracts because the
Federal Administrator of
the wage-hours law had
restricted the company's
source of supply to a ten-:
mile radius from the plant
at Cheriton.

High School will be held on
Monday evening. The bac-.j
calaureate sermon will be
delivered on Sunday even
ing by the Rev. J.F. Stegall
with the graduation exer
cises set for Tuesday night
with Prof. Jasper Memory.
This is the fourteenth com
mencement of the Per
quimans High School. At the
Class Night exercises on
Monday, Watt Winslow will
act as toastmaster and will
introduce the outstanding ',.
seniors. The class prophecy
will be handled by Margaret
Broughton and the gifts will
be presented by Nancy Coke -Darden.
Acting as marshals
or ushers will be Jack
Anderson, Dixie Chappell,
George Fields, Ruth
Hollowell, Katherine
Proceeds will be used to
-finish paying the approxi
mately $1500 balance due on
the Marching Unit bus.
The grill will be on display
in the J.C. Blanchard Co.
