Pgt 4-Th Ptrqulmant Weekly, Hertford, N.C Thursday, April 21, 1977 Spring Festival Planned At Union ; The Student Council of Perquimans Union School is sponsoring a Spring Festival this Saturday, April 23. The booths will open at 11 a.m. and plans are to be close at 3 p.m. Besides a concession stand featuring hamburgers, soft drinks and potato chips, there will be booths with games of all types. Prizes will be given to those who successfully complete each game. There will also be a bake sale, flea market, craft table and some mystery packages , for sale. One special booth this year is be ing manned by the teachers. For a small fee students are allowed to throw wet sponges at the faces of their, favorites. The King, Queen, Prince and Princess of the Festival will be crowned at 2 p.m. A lot of planning and ; 5 preparation has gone into .; this event and it promises to ? . be fun for all ages. Proceeds will go to help sponsor the many projects of the Stu- - dent Council. .The public is invited. Mr. and Mrs. Louis McNeill and family of St. Pauls spent several days last with their daughter, Miss Ann McNeill. Mrs. Mary Felton and her guests, Mrs. Fred Floyd and Miss English Wade, of Or rum, spent a few days last week in Halifax with Mrs. Emma Smith. Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Carver and family of Chesapeake, Va. were guests of Mr. and Ms. Julian White on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Tucker spent several days this week in Henderson with their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. W.B.Tucker. ' Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Reed and family of Raleigh were weekend guests Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Reed. - Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Sullivan spent several days this week in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Mrs. Carey Quincey of Virginia Beach, Va. spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. T.W. Nixon. Mr. and Mrs. Cornelious , Apple and daughter 'of Yorktown, Va. were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ward Proctor at Harvey Point. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Payne of Charlotte spent the weekend at their home in Hertford. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Henritze of Alexandria, Va. spent several days this week with Wayne Henritze. ' Mrs. Fred Floyd and Miss English Wade of Orrum spent the weekend in Hert ford and visited Mrs. Mary Felton at Morgan's Rest. Home. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Elliott of Edenton were guests of Mrs. William Elliott on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John V. Winslow and family have returned to their home in Asheboro after spending last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Leroy White. Mr. and Mrs. Louis, Tarkenton of Portsmouth, Va. were guests of Mrs. William Elliott on Sunday. WOODWORKING Many skills are learned and developed the shop program under the instruction of Roy Forehand. Shown above is the product of this learning. Occupational Fair Announced J Perquimans County will be among those par ticipating in the high school ?ccupational and Trades air at Southgate Mall, Elizabeth City on Friday and Saturday, April 22 and 23, running each night until 9 H-m. J The many occupational programs in the junior and senior high schools over a I5-county area will bring into the mall examples of (heir programs, objects and designs of their craftsman ship, demonstrations de picting their learning techniques, products pro duced by students in their classes, laboratories and shops, and results of their occupational training. There will be exhibits por traying programs. There will be demonstrations in cosmetology, health occupa tions, bricklaying and carpentry, electronics, welding, drafting, marine occupations, and many others. Agriculture home economics, distributive education programs, and exploratory programs will be on display.
