The parents voluntarily

Excitement? Adventure?
Perquimans High has cer
tainly had its share of them
these past weeks.
Suzy Towe, a well-known
student at PCHS, was
honored to serve as page in
the . House of Represen
tatives from March 25 to
April 1. Some of her duties
Included running errands
and attending various
meetings.' According to Suzy
the experience was both en
joyable and educational
. The tables have finally
turned'! Teachers are going
to school! Approximately 34
teachers from the various
schools in the county are
now attending a Teacher's
Workshop which features
the Metric System. This
class is held every Tuesday
and Thursday afternoon in
the high school library. The
classes are being taught by
Mrs. Brickhouse, the math
coordinator for this'county.
Next time you see one of our
teachers why donH you ask
him if its true that 28 grams
of prevention is worth 0.45
kilograms of cure?
Probably, the most ex
citing day at PCHS before
we got out for Easter, was
the day the tricycle race
was held better known as
"The Perquimans 500." This
event was enjoyed by
students and teachers alike.
After the race everyone
crowded in the auditorium
for another outstanding
event . the Glee Club Con
cert. A variety of songs
ranging from religious to
"pop" was presented. Such
songs as "You Don't Have'
To Be A Star," Bridge Over
Troubled Waters," and
"Stairway to'Heaven" were
enjoyed by everyone.
On April 13, phrases such .
as "Is my hair alright?" or
"I've got to change my
clothes," were familiar to
everyone. The reason for
their popularity? Next
year's seniors were having
their environmental por
traits taken. It was a hectic
day for those of us who par
ticipated in this activity, but
somehow we survived
through six different poses
and a cost of $2 for the
sitting fee. No drastic ac
cidents occurred, and
luckily nonef us broke the
camera with our flashing
smiles!
So until next week,
remember: No news is good
news!
