vas, a needle, and yarn to
make a pin cushion. Mrs.

demostrated how to start
and helped each member
get on the way. Several
members learned the art
well enough to complete the

The president, Mrs.
Virginia White, called the
meeting to order with eight
members present.. The
group sang "This is My
Father's World" and the
devotion was given by Mrs.
Edna Winslow, using as her
theme, "The Easter Story".
She ' said the risen Lord
should be a part of our life
every day. She closed with
prayer.
Mrs. Underwood made
several announcements of
Mrs. Eldon Winslow was
hostess to er bridge club
Tuesday night at her home
on Riverside Drive. Those
playing were. Mrs. Charles

LITTLE MISS COUNTRY MUSIC - It was not a packed
house, but an appreciative audience turned out Saturday for .
the country and western show held at Perquimans County
High School. Top billing went to Melissa Lewis, acclaimed
12-year old country singer from Perquimans County. Also
featured was Miss Lewis' back-up band, The Lewis & Clark
Expedition. Proceeds benefitted the local American Legion.

CHEESE N BURGER
' BAKE
lib. ground beef
1 pkg. Hamburger Helper
mix for cheeseburger
macaroni
2ttc. hot water
V4 c. sliced green onions
2to3tsp. worcester-
shire sauce
2 slices bacon, crisply fried
and crumbled (optional)
Heat oven to 375F. Cook
and stir ground beef in 10
inch skillet until light
brown;, drain. Mix beef,
macaroni, sauce mix,
water, onions, and
Worcestershire sauce in
ungreased oblong baking
dish, 10x6x1 inches or
square pan, 9x9x2 inches.
Bake uncovered until hot
and bubbly, about 35
' minutes; stir. Sprinkle with
bacon. Yields five servings.
