The Perquimans Weekly, Hertford, N.C., Thursday, April 28, 1f77-Pg 7 Executive Order Is Considered "J .. i , " f t Iff ' r' (V; f W i ! s t i 1 7 lf 1KB 4 ,;..-;' nr According to Ton! Zindel, president of the Cape Hat teras Anglers Club, an Executive Order if forth coming which would close all public lands to all types of off-road vehicles. The an ticipated order would amend order number 11644 issued in February, 1972 which states that public lands are open to off-road vehicles unless sufficient reason exists to believe there is ecological damage of an irreversible nature. Essentially, according to Zindel, the order would close public lands to off-road vehicles, specifically those of a four-wheel drive type. The anglers club ex pressed concern 1 that no hearings are being held on this matter for input and comments from the public and because of that, they are urging interested citizens to write their Senators and Congressman. Zindel pointed out that the economy of Hatteras Island depends on fisherman and those that enjoy the beach, most of whom arrive in off road vehicles. r KING AND QUEEN - Activities at the crowning of the Festival's King and i Spring Festival held Saturday at Per- Queen.
