A reception followed the mar riage at the Hillcrest Gardens. Out-of-town guests attending were, Mrs. Yvonne Parker of Fredricksburg, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bell, Miss Clara Bryant and friend, Willie, and Miss Lilea Bryant and Joseph Bryant of Maryland. The Willing Workers Club sponsored a program, "Building The Church," Sunday night at New Bethel. Skinner and family. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Harvey is Mrs. Harvey's brother, Wiley GordanofNewYork. The Harvey Point 4-H Club held its regular meeting Monday at the home of Connie Brothers. Miss Gwen Jones presided over the meeting. Eric Skin ner gave a demonstration on place setting. Two new members joined the club. Plans were made for a baseball game on Saturday. Mrs. Sarah Downing, one of the leaders of New Bethel youth choir, presented Misses Linda Felton, Terry Brooks, Vivian Long, and Teresa Spruill with a gift, the Holy Bible, which was from the Youth choir in recognition for their gradua tion from Perquimans High School. He had been stay ing at the home of bis son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glenwood Stall ings in Elizabeth City. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Knopf Sr. have returned to their home after spending their vacation in Winston Salem where they attended a family reunion last Sun day. They spent the past weekend in Shallotte, N.C. with their son Reuben Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Copeland of Great Bridge, Va. spent Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harold Copeland. They also visited Mr. Copeland's father in the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Mae Twine is a pa tient in the Intensive Care Unit of Chowan Hospital in Edenton. Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Rid dick spent Sunday afternoon in Franklin, Va. They at tended a birthday luncheon for their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bill Riddick. t Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Layderi spent the weekend in Virginia Beach, Va. Mrs. Layden's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Edwardo Schick Sr. celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on Saturday. Master Jason Landing of Windsor, N.C. spent the weekend with his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Copeland. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Matter of Virginia Beach, Va. were visitors in Belvidere on Sun day. They visited the W.T. Riddick home, her aunt Mrs. Mae Twine who is seriously ill in the Chowan Hospital and Mrs. Tim Jessup of Gates. The Belvidere-Chappell Hill Ladies Auxiliary will meet next Tuesday night, June 21, in the meeting room of the Fire Department. Mrs. Nelda Perry is the school superintendent with twelve teachers in the classrooms; There will be commence ment exercises Friday at 6:30 p.m. The adult Mens Bible Class of Bethel Baptist Church will host their third annual dinner for the com munity senior citizens this month. The event will be held June 25 at 7 p.m. in the Fire Station. Mrs. Becky Hobbs Clough and children, Neil and Mark, are visiting Mrs. Clough's family, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace. Hobbs of Bethel . for a month. The Clough's are presently residing in England where Mr. Clough is serving duty in the U.S. Air Force.
