The 4-H members attending were Cassie Felton, Lisa Boyce, Arlean Cartwright, Carta Skinner, David White, Donna Elliott, Rene' Hunter, Dianna Hunter, Gay Lilley, Mary Eason, Sherlie Walton, Conelius Mack, Honor Students GREENVILLE - A total of 3,296 East Carolina University students earned places on the university's of ficial honors list for the Spring quarter. The total compares with 3,152 for the Winter quarter of 1976-77. The honors list included students from 90 of the state's 100 counties, from 27 states and from five foreign countries. Most elite of the honor students are those making all "A's." Next are those who made the Dean's List with a solid B-plus average with no grade below C. The Honor Roll includes those students making a B average with no grade below C. One Perquimans County student was among those B ethel-Snug Harbor Communnity News By ELV A HARRINGTON The residents of Hertford and surrounding areas look forward to the Fourth of July celebration in Hertford each year. The Hertford Fifes and Drums par ticipated in this year's parade. Two of the members are residents of Snug Harbor, I.R. Bibb and Frank Harrington. Ac tivities in the Snug Harbor area were exciting. The Women's Club Bazaar was a big success. Mrs. Cathy Mumms won the tractor. Mrs. Helen Rickman won the afghan. Mrs. Olive Smith won the cake. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stuller and two children from Olney, Md. are visiting Mr. Stuller's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Stuller of Snug Harbor. Mr, and Mrs. Frank Williams of Snug Harbor visited their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. F.B. Alvaran and their two children in Baltimore, Md. ; Their daughter and family came home with them and spent the week vacationing here in Snug Harbor. Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Hall from Hampton, Va. spent last week in their home in Snug Harbor. Their daughter and three children from Puerto Rico visited with them at that time. Mr. and Mrs. N.A. Davis and daughter, Roxanne, of Hampton, Va. spent the Holidays at their camp at Snug Harbor. Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Nor man, formerly of Ports mouth, Va. have moved to their permanent residence, Lot 49M, in Snug Harbor. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Har rington Jr. of Snug Harbor had their three children, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Humphreys and their three children of Hampton, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Harrington and their two children of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. David Har rington of Eatontown, N.J., visiting them July 1-4. Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Lee from Falls Church, Va. and Mr. Torance Mack, Robert Hicks, Toney Hicks,. Glenn , Nowell, Flora Hinton, and ' Maurice Hinton. , While there, the Leaders and 4-H members enjoyed the variety of demonstra tion, talent, singing, sewing, public speaking, etc. The an nouncements of winners were made by Dr. Dalton Proctor, Associate State 4-H Leader; Mrs. Josephine Patterson, District Exten sion Agent; and J.C. Jones, District Extension Chair man. The Perquimans County delegation were ac companied by Mrs. M.B. Taylor, Home Economics Extension Agent. 4-H CAMP Twenty Perquimans County 4-H Club members are attending J.W. Mitchell 4-H Camp in Onslow County at Swansboro, N.C. They left Monday, July 4 and will return Saturday, July 9. The 4-H'ers are as follows: Eric Skinner, William Skinner Jr., Martin Choat, Evangeline Downing, Johnetta Downing, Lisa Boyce, David White, Donna Elliott, Jackie Hunter, Rene' Hunter, Sarah Good win, Sharon Edenfield, with scholastic achievement for the Spring quarter. Miss Rebecca C. Hurdle of Rt. 2, Hertford was named to the university's Honor Roll. CHAPEL HILL -Winston Earl Lane III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Winston E. Lane Jr. of Rt. 1, Hertford, has been named to the 1977 spring semester dean's list at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. To make the dean's list, a student must earn a 3.2 grade average on the 4.0 scale while taking 15 or more letter grade hours of credit, or a 3.5 average while taking at least 12, but not less than 15, letter grade hours. and Mrs. Dan Garris and two children from Hampton, Va. were also guests. Miss Felton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Felton and Stepney is the son of Mrs. Mary Stepney. Those delegates will be sponsored by the Virginia Electric and Power Company. One of the Highlights of the Electric Congress will be a trip to Carowinds on Tuesday, July 12.
