Gray performing the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wallace Goodwin Jr. of Rt. 3, Edenton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Harrell of Rt. 2 Edenton. Music was presented by Mrs. Robert E. Gray, pianist; Mrs. Larry Smith, organist, and Miss June Byrum, soloist. The church was decorated with palms and soft candlelight with arrange ments of white mixed flowers cascading through spiral candelabra. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white sheer organza with chantilly and benise lace trim with a fitted bodice featuring a ruffled bib, sheer yoke, and high collar embellished with chantilly and venise lace ap pliques. The gown featured full bishop sleeves with a flounced cuff of chantilly lace. The full skirt and at tached chapel train featured a tiered hemline flounce edged in chantilly lace. Her headpiece was a fitted cap of venise lace which featured chapel length illu sion edged in chantilly lace. The bride carried a cascade of miniature white carna tions with a white cattleya orchid on a Bible. Serving as maid of honor was Miss Anna Goodwin, sister of the bride. Matron oi honor was Mr. Jerry Bowl ing, cousin of the bride, and bridesmaids were Miss Har riett Platts of Kinston, N.C. cousin of the bride; Miss Kathy Small, Miss Becky Small, and Miss Marion Dail. Flower girl was Shan non Privott of St. Louis, Mo., cousin of the bride. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Pam Owens, Miss Jean Parrish, Miss Jane Parrish, and Mrs. Bonnie Van Horn. Joseph E. Harrell served as best man for his son and ushers were Joseph Wallace Goodwin III, brother of the bride; William Harrell cousin of the groom, Dur ward Medlin III, Marty Twiford, Kenneth Ray Boyce and Gary Kennedy. The mother of the bride wore a pale blue jersey gown featuring assyme trically gathered vee neck, midriff detail of guipure lace, long fitted sleeves and a separate back panel drape. The groom's mother wore a seafoam green ribknit dress with standup collar and short sleeves. Mrs. Thomas Cross and Mrs. Joe Thorud served as mistresses of ceremony. Following a reception in the Fellowship Hall at the Edenton Baptist Church, the couple left for a wedding trip to Florida. They will make their home at Rt. 2, Edenton. Pre-Nuptial Parties A kitchen shower was given by Miss Marion Dail on May 24. Friends of the bride gave a miscellaneous shower on June 8. A bridal luncheon was given by Miss Kathy Small and Miss Becky Small on June 18. A miscellaneous shower, given by aunts of the groom, was held on June 21. A cook-out honoring the bride and groom, given by Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Ashley and Miss Belva Ashley, was held June 25. ' A luncheon was given July 9 by Mr. and Mrs. Yates Parrish, Miss Jean Parrish, Miss Jane Parrish, Mrs. Dale White, Mrs. Fred Clark, Mrs. Ray Spruill and Mrs. Lin Jordan. The rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Lester Harrell Mr. and Mrs. Paul Platts, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Privott Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Gene Harrell and Gerald Harrell.
