Judge Chaffin Presides Judge John Chaffia presided at the Wednesday session of Perqaimans County District Court and disposed of the following cases: Raeford Griffin, charged with not having a chauf feur's license, received a thirty day sentence suspended for 2 years, and a fine of $75.00 and cost; Kenneth Pattaway was charged with 2 counts of driving with his license revoked (the charges were consoliated for judgment). The defendant was given a seven months sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $400.00 and cost, was ordered not to operate a motor vehicle on the highway until relicensed to do so, and not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for a period of twelve months; Robert Curtis Sadler was found guilty of inspection violation and was taxed with a fine of $35.00 and cost; Carlton Derriah Butts, charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating beverage, received a ninety day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $100.00 and cost, and was told not to operate a motor vehicle un til relicensed to do so, and not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws; Lawrence Leroy Trafton was found guilty of shop lifting and received a thirty day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $100.00 and cost, was told not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for twelve months, and not to go on the premises of Colonial Stores for a period of 2 years. An appeal was noted and the case was put on the Superior Court Docket for trial; Franklin Mann, charged with driving under the in fluence of intoxicating heverage and driving with no operator's license (the 2 charges were consolidated for trial) and received a ninety day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $175.00 and cost. The defendant was told not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws, not to operate a motor vehicle until relicensed to do so for twelve months. Along a White was taxed with a fine of $10.00 and cost on an assault charge; Joseph Elliott was charged with assault on a female and was given a nine months sentence suspended for 3 years, a fine of $100.00 and cost, was told not to assault bis wife for 3 years, and not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for twelve months; William Earl Elliott made his first appearance on Wednesday, and Prob able Cause hearing was set for November 23. The defendant was released under the same conditions set by Magistrate; Richard Leon Jordan, charged with reckless driv ing and driving under the influence of intoxicating beverage, (charges were consolidated for judgment) was sentenced to ninety days suspended for 2 years, a fine of $150.00 and cost, was told not to operate a motor vehicle until duly relicensed and not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws. Limited driv ing privilege was granted by the State; Chris Barnhill was charged with trespassing and assault (the charges were consolidated for trial) and was given a thirty day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $50.00 and cost, was ordered not to go on the property on of pro \ secuting witnesses for 2 years. Ad appeal was noted and the case was placed on the Superior Court Docket for trial; Franklin D. Mann was found not guilty of driving with no operator's license, and failure to report an accident; Linwood Luther Lamb, Jr., charged with driving under the influence and not having an operator's license (consolidated for judgment) received a nine ty day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $200.00 and cost, was told not to ap pear on the N.C. highway until relicensed, and was told not vo violate any Federal, State, or local laws; John Luther White, was taxed with a fine of $75.00 and cost, was told not to operate a motor vehicle on the highway until re licensed to do so, and not to violate any federal, State, or local laws; George Darvin Carver was found guilty of passing a stopped school bus and was given a thirty day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $100.00 and cost, and told not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for twelve months; Larry Suzanne Mallory was taxed with cost for a stop sign violation; Cheryl Lee Gentry was taxed with a fine of $10.00 and cost for driving on left side of center line. Kent Andrew Mote was taxed with a fine of 125.00 and coat on ipeeding charge; Jarvin Henry Miller was found guilty of passing a stopped school bus and received a thirty day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $100.00 and cost and was told not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for twelve months, fine of $10.00 and cost on a speeding charge; James Lloyd, charged with passing a stopped school bus, was given a thirty day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $25.00 and cost, and was told not to violate any Federal, State, or local laws for twelve months; Graham Ellis Boush, charged with improper registration and not having financial responsibility, \tas given ninety day sentence suspended for 2 years, a fine of $125.00 and cost, and was told not to operate until properly relicensed and properly insured. An appeal was .noted. Harvey on Monday, Nov. 14 at 10:05 p.m. Elmer Cooper Jr. of P.O. Box 162 Roper, N.C. was cited by Officer Greg Harrington on Wednesday, Nov. 16 for speeding 70 in a 55 zone. Lester Leverne Far rington of 107 Peterson St. Red Springs, N.C. was cited for speeding 69 in a 55 zone by officer Greg Harrington on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Wilton DuBois of P.O. Box 3, Hertford, was cited for speeding 39 in a 25 zone by Officer Greg Harrington on Thursday, Nov. 17. Cecil Claxton Wilkerson of Rt. 1, Box 285, Camden, N.C. was cited for speeding 65 in a 55 tone by Officer Greg Harrington on Friday, Nov. 11. Oscar White of 312 Stokes Street, Hertford, was cited for speeding 46 in a 35 sone by Officer Greg Harrington on Saturday, Nov. 19. Herbert Lawrence White of 204 W.
