Happenings By BILLY WOOTIN la girls' basketball action last Saturday morning the Eden ton teams von two while the Perqaimaas teams woaoM. In the first game, Eden ton defeated Perquimans Green, 414. la the second game, Edeaton slipped by Perquimans Red. 14-C, and in the final game, Per quimans Blue edged Kden ton, M. Next week, Perquimans Red will play the Green on Wednesday evening and on Thursday evening, the Blue will play the Green. Both games will start at Sp.m. at the Perquimans Union School gym. The adult basketball is going along well. Game* are played on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7, I and ? at the Union School. Admission is free and the public is inrited. Results and standings for adult basketball The following are the results of adult basketball play last week: H. Jackson scored IS while G.Tillet tallied 10 for the 76'ers who were vic torious over Pioneer Seed by a score of (1-48. R. Lassiter shot 31 for Pioneer Seed. The Independents pulled out a win of 80-45 over the Golddiggers. For the vic tors, G. Stubbing shot 16, J. Winslow also had 16, and G. Rouse totaled 12. D. Mat thews was leader with 22 for the Golddiggers. In the 7f'ers vs. Warhawks game, the 76'ers scored another win by a 66-23 score. C. Gilliam shot 10 for the winners while K. Welch led the Warhawks with 9. A close game saw Woodard's defeat the Hornets by a 33-30 finish. For the winners, C.J. Stall ings shot 12 while A. Moore tallied 11. G. McClenney led for the Hornets with 8. The Independents en joyed their second victory, this time over Community Gas by a 66-54 (core. Leading for the victors were J. Winslow with 33 and K. Felton with 10. Two members tied for high scor ing for Community Gas: M. Hill and L. White, each with IS. The Ail-Stars defeated the Warhawks, 65-42. Leading shooters were T. Parker and C.
