Computers and intricate office machines help; but telephone .service is people . . . people like the routine clerk-stenographer in the central office. She types a little, gripes a little (naturally), files a little, smiles a lot. A lot of the things she does are relatively simple . . . but vital to the completion of many other jobs. The clerk stenographer is one of many real people who help keep you in touch with the rest of the world. At your telephone company, people are the common denominator.
