It is not known to this day the exact place, but Mark and 1st Cor. say "There were more than 500 others present." Verse 17 says: "They worshipped Him but many doubted." This is sad but true to life. We're not even sure but that some of the eleven may have. Why did they doubt? What kpnd of doubt? MONDAY-FRIDAY, CLOSING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS ATI P.M. ? for Information Or Appointments CALL 426-5711 Dear friends, Your funeral director can help , arrange any type of funeral service you wish. Your clergyman can coordi , note the service. A humanist service might include d eulogy by a close associate, family ireminiscenses, favorite music or readings of the , deceased. The choices are yours. Respectfully, Christ? Remember, Thomas said that unless he could see the prints of the nails in Jesus' hands and put his hands in his wounded side, he would not believe. Doubting disciples would not have been responsible for removing the body themselves. Verse 18 says: "Jesus spoke to them and said: 'All power is given unto me in Heaven and on earth' Verse 19 says: "Go ye therefore and teach all na tions." The final work of the Master is what we call the "Great Commission." Go teach baptizing. These are marching orders. The triumphant King leaves his work in the hands of his followers assuring us of His comfort and presence as we go forth. Verte 20 says: "Teaching them to observe all things .whatsoever I have commanded you and lo I am with you even to the end of the World." The Resurrection was not a vision. The ap pearance of Jesus was not either. We believe as the disciples, in a bodily resurrection and not a state of spiritual survival. We do not know what changes took place in Jesus' body. We know a change took place after the Resurrection. His disciples did not always recognize Him promptly. He could appear in a room when the door was bolted for fear of the Jews. This is something He did not do before His Resurrection. The fact is that a continuity was in His body that death did not disrupt. The Resurrection of Jesus is one of the best at tested facts of history. The reliability of this becomes acceptable to inquiring minds when the Risen King is allowed to dwell as King of Kings in our hearts. Jesus not only died to save the World, He also arose from the grave. If He had remained in the grave, no message of eternal life could be proclaimed. What does the Resurrection mean to you? Do you discover within it the assurance of Christ's presence? Does He live within us?. It gives us the promise of a vital union with our Lord. It assures us of a future life with Him. It tells us as it did Job, if a man dies, will he live again? Those who know Him now will recognize Him later. We believe we shall know each other in Heaven. The Resurrection promises the Christian complete victory over death. John said "Because I live, you shall live also." The Resurrection is the basis of our challenge to witness. Matthew says: "Go ye, teach all nations." Our Savior gives us this power to carry out His Commission to teach and baptize the nations. pass CARD OF THANKS *ww| I ? jjS Our sincere thanks to all who re-jS membered us with your time, gifts, food, cards, flowers, and most especially your prayers during the illness and death of our little Stacie. Answer: Not long ago, I heard a rather interesting comment about the "three P's" ? that your prescriptions have been prescribed for only one Person (you), for only one Purpose (your good health), and for one Period-of-illness (your current one) . . and not for any other purpose, period, or person. Prescriptions are written to counteract your illness, allowing for careful con sideration of your physical condition and any known al lergies. They're not to be shared, saved, or misused.
