I might say a few words about Duter. A spray schedule that includes Duter is useful in areas where spider mite problems have been severe. NCSU research has shown that Duter is very good in suppressing spider mites. Well's (Extension Plant Pathologist) On Farm Test Program, has found that two properly timed sprays of Duter are helpful in reducing the Southern Stem Rot problem. Many good fungicides are avilable for leafspot control. The following is an example of a rotation program which has produced excellent results : 1st application: Bravo 500 ? 1V4 pta.-A + 1 qt. Super Six or Benlate 6 oz. + 1 qt. Super Six. 2nd application: Duter 6 oz. + lqt. Super Six. 3rd application: Bravo lWi pts. + Super Six or Benlate 6 oz. + lqt. Super Six. 4th application: Duter 6 oz. + 1 qt. Super Six. 5th application : Bravo 500 ? 1% pts. + 1 qt. Super Six or Benlate 6 oz. + 1 qt. Super Six. 6th application: Kocide 404S or Top Cop or Copper Count gal.? A. 7th application: Any of the six. l" Remember a good leafspot control program is part of a Southern Stem Rot control program. When leafspot control fails, leaves ac cumulate around the base of the plant. The fungus is present in the soil as round "overwintering bodies" and is stimulated to germinate by the decaying leaves. The fungus then infects the peanut stems. Use of a rotational fungicide spray program for leafspot control will insure maximum profits in peanuts in 1980. i NOTICE The County Finance Officer, on Monday June 2, 1980, sub mitted to the Perquimans County Board of Commissioners the proposed 1980-81 Budget for Perquimans County.
