(CO A Photo) Bucks defeat devils in basketball opener Midget Basketball-In the season opener the Bucks defeated the Devils 22-7 in the 7:00 game. The high scorers for the game were Derik Rogers, 16 points, and Anthony Turner, 6 points, for the Bucks. Everett Larabee, William Fowler and Chrissie Fincham, 2 points each for the Devils. In the 8:00 game the Royals defeated the Nuggets 20-17. The first quarter was scoreless as each team put forth a good defensive battle. High scores for the game were for the Royals. Lester Whitehurst, 6 points, Joey Fincham, 6 points and Danta Mercer, 4 points. For the Nuggetts, Jo Jo Parker scored 15 points. Saturday, January 22, Nuggetts vs Royals at 10 A.M. Bucks vs Devils at 11 AM Wednesday, January 26, Devils vs Royals at 7 P.M. and the Bucks vs Nuggetts at 8 P.M. Junior Basketball-On Tuesday, January 11, the Perquimans County Junior Boys Basketball Team traveled to Edenton to play the Edenton Lakers. Perquimans defeated the Lakers 38-28. For Perquimans Arvin Johnson scored 10 points, Randy Lassiter, 8 points. Johnny Jackson, and Russell Parker each scored 6 points. High scorer for the Lakers was Oliver Holley with 10 points. Saturday, January 22, Perquimans County vs Edenton Lakers at 12:00 at the Union Gym. Perquimans County vs Edenton Blazers at 5:30 in Edenton. Burger King Basketball Shoot-Out For Easter Seals-Kids don't forget to enter the Burger King Easter Seal Basketball Shoot-Out on January 29. Sponsor forms can be obtained from the Rec.
