Democrats schedule area
precinct meetings
The precinct meeting is the
foundation of the nation's
democracy. And precinct meetings
will be held all across N.C. on
Thursday, March 3 at 8 P.M.
"Democrats from Perquimans Co.
will meet at their precinct polling
place," EsteUe Felton, chairman of
the Perquimans County Democratic
Party announced today. "All
registered Democrats are urged to
attend these meetings.
This year, precinct meetings are
more important than ever before.
Democrats face historic campaigns
in 1964 and the precinct meetings are
the beginning of setting the tone for
that race," Felton said.
The purpose of the precinct
meetings is to elect delegates to the
county Democratic convention to be
held on April 30 and to elect precinct
officers.
"It is at the precinct meetings that
those who want to work for a
Democratic victory in 1984 for the
Presidency, the U.S. Senate, and
legislators can assure that they will'
be fully involved," Felton said.
"We want to make sure that every
precinct in Perquimans County is
organised and tHkt all Democrats
can fully participate in the historic
1964 campaigns," Felton concluded.
Together,
we can
change things.
